Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership for a luxury hotel, guiding management through accurate reporting, cash‑flow optimisation and rigorous internal controls. This senior position ensures the profitability and financial health of the property while safeguarding owners' and investors' assets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor cash‑flow statements, manage receivables, payables and cash balances.
• Ensure compliance with all local Qatari fiscal regulations and obtain necessary permits for currency transfers.
• Safeguard leases, contracts and legal documents that impact the hotel’s financial status.
• Review and approve daily, monthly and trend reports, as well as auditor check‑lists.
• Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate recording in line with international accounting standards.
• Investigate budget variances, provide actionable recommendations and support continuous improvement.
• Assist capital planning, calculate return on investment for improvements and oversee the bid process.
• Maintain regulatory licences, permits, leases and ensure proper execution of operational taxes.
• Analyse financial data to advise senior management on achieving financial objectives.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance‑sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.

Required profile

• Extensive finance leadership experience within the hotel or hospitality sector.
• Deep knowledge of Qatari fiscal law and international accounting standards.
• Proven ability to manage cash flow, budgeting, variance analysis and capital projects.
• Strong track record of producing accurate, timely financial reports for senior management.
• Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights to non‑financial stakeholders.
