Director of Marketing and Communications

About the role

The Director of Marketing and Communications leads all communication initiatives for a prestigious hotel in Doha, focusing on public relations and brand image to drive revenue growth. This senior position oversees the development and execution of strategic marketing plans, media relations, and internal communications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual communications plan aligned with the hotel’s marketing objectives and budget.
• Prepare and monitor progress reports, comparing actual results against targets and taking corrective actions.
• Oversee mailing activities, corporate identity guidelines, and maintain a master library of visual assets.
• Supervise the in‑house art department and coordinate photography for advertising, collateral, and PR purposes.
• Act as the official spokesperson, respond to media inquiries within 24 hours, and manage a comprehensive media contact database.
• Draft press releases, collaborate with corporate and international press offices, and secure coverage across local, regional, and international outlets.
• Lead community, government, and VIP relations, and organize hotel‑sponsored events and partnership initiatives.
• Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, or related fields, OR a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
