Director of Operations - Rooms

About the role

The Director of Operations - Rooms leads the Rooms Division of a luxury resort in Doha, covering 283 keys, Housekeeping & Laundry, Front Office, Safety & Security and Spa & Recreation. The role sets luxury service benchmarks, drives rooms-related ancillary revenues, optimizes operational margins and maintains pristine asset presentation and safety standards. Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end guest journey and audit SOPs against ultra-luxury standards such as Forbes Travel Guide and Leading Hotels of the World, using NPS and quality audit data to improve service.
• Oversee Front Office, Concierge, Guest Relations, Butler Services and Valet; Housekeeping, linen inventory and laundry; Spa & Wellness programming and retail; Recreation and activities; and Safety & Security.
• Own the Rooms Division P&L, work with Revenue Management and Sales to maximize RevPAR, and control operating expenses.
• Manage preventive maintenance with Engineering/Facilities and coordinate in-room dining and VIP amenities with F&B.
• Mentor department heads, run luxury service training, plan the workforce and manage contractors and succession.

Required profile

• 8-10 years of progressive luxury hospitality management, including 3-5 years as Director of Rooms or Director of Operations in a 5-star international hotel or resort.
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field; a Master's or executive management credential preferred.
• Health and safety management certification (OSHA, IOSH or equivalent) and First Aid/CPR awareness; luxury brand service auditor certification is advantageous.

Required skills

• Property management systems such as Opera Cloud and Micros, and spa management systems such as Book4Time.
• Revenue management tools and financial analysis.
• Crisis management and strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
