Cook I - Food and Beverage

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton is hiring a Cook I in Doha (Qatar) within its Food and Beverage & Culinary category. This is a full-time, non-management position based at Ras Abu Abboud Street, and the cook prepares meals according to recipes, quality and presentation standards while supporting the kitchen team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist, including cold foods.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items, and anticipate guests' service needs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
