Director of Sales & Marketing

About the role

Join IHG in Doha as Director of Sales and Marketing, leading a team to drive hotel revenue across rooms, food & beverage, and events while delivering true hospitality experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Direct day‑to‑day activities, plan and assign work, and set performance goals for the sales team.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients such as airlines, travel agencies, and local community groups to generate group and convention business.
• Achieve budgeted revenues, maximize profitability, and contribute to the annual operating and marketing plans.
• Create and implement sales plans that increase occupancy, average rates, and banquet sales.
• Analyse market trends and sales forecasts to adjust strategies and increase market share.
• Organise special events, sales blitzes, and attend trade shows to showcase the hotels.
• Educate, train and motivate the sales and marketing teams to meet revenue targets.
• Identify operational issues affecting marketing performance and work with relevant departments on solutions.
• Promote the hotel’s brand and sustainable initiatives within the local community and media.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
• At least four years of hospitality sales and marketing experience with direct supervisory responsibility.
• Strong leadership and team‑motivation skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of local business trends and key market players.
• Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to high‑level customer service.
