Early Years (Female) PE Teacher - Immediate Start

About the role

GEMS American Academy Qatar, a private school in Doha following the American Common Core curriculum, is looking for a female Early Years Physical Education teacher to join the team from November 2026. The successful candidate will inspire a love of Kindergarten/Early Years PE, deliver engaging lessons and contribute to the wider school community. Experience teaching within the American curriculum is particularly valued.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the American curriculum and school expectations.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment for all learners.
• Plan, assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform teaching and raise achievement.
• Differentiate instruction for English language learners and students needing extra support or challenge.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development and professional practice.
• Take part in extracurricular activities, school events and professional development.
• Promote student well-being, safeguarding and positive behaviour in line with school policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education or a degree in Early Years, Elementary or Physical Education, with a state teaching license, PGCE or equivalent recognised qualification.
• At least two years of experience teaching Elementary PE at the Elementary/Lower School level.
• Experience teaching within the American curriculum and understanding of its standards, methods and assessment.
• Native or near-native English with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong subject knowledge, confidence with technology, commitment to professional development and alignment with GEMS core values.
• Available to start in November 2026.
