Electrician - Hotel Maintenance

About the role

A full-time, non-management electrician position in Lusail, Qatar, within the hotel engineering and facilities function. The role covers guest repair requests, preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and communicate with guests and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and share daily activities and problems with other shifts.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Replace light bulbs and A/C filters, paint, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and clean up work areas.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer.
• Welcome guests, follow safety and security policies, and adhere to quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and building systems.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules.
