Engineer Technician

About the role

The Engineer Technician supports the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) at Al Udeid Air Base, providing drafting, surveying, and GIS services to maintain accurate facility and infrastructure data.

Key responsibilities

• Create and print custom maps using the Defense Area Printing Service (DAPS) and store them in the Government IDMS.
• Conduct in‑field land surveys, collect geospatial data, and update utility, infrastructure, and facility Mission Data Sets (MDS).
• Maintain technical drawings, GIS data, and digital floor plans using AutoCAD and ArcGIS Pro.
• Compile and organize project documentation, including cost estimates, specifications, schedules, and bills of materials.
• Edit and update GeoBase data, ensuring compliance with DoDI 8130.01, DAFI 32‑10112, and related Air Force standards.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of surveying and drafting experience and 1 year with current AutoCAD and GIS software.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, and a valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience on U.S. Government or military projects is preferred.

Required skills

• AutoCAD 2025 or newer.
• GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, GeoBase).
• Surveying equipment (Trimble GPS, Total Station, RTK).
• Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
