Export Control Officer

About the role

BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services is looking for an Export Control Officer for its Eurofighter Typhoon Main Operating Base (MoB) in Doha. The role applies the company's Export Control policies and procedures and complies with all applicable Export Control laws and regulations. It is operationally and functionally responsible to the Qatar Export Control Manager, and the holder may be asked to carry out additional or alternative tasks depending on qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Export Control framework at Dukhan airbase.
• Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day advice and guidance on Export Control regulatory and procedural requirements.
• Take part in assurance activities for all Main Operating Base departments, covering internal and external audits.
• Carry out Export Control investigations, draft disclosure letters, identify corrective actions and lead root cause analysis and lessons learned reviews.
• Identify Export Control risks and mitigation strategies and support risk reviews.
• Develop and deliver local export control training.
• Support Export Control compliance and assurance activities in the country, giving visibility of audit, corrective action and improvement planning.
• Liaise with stakeholders across the business so that strategic Export Control objectives are delivered.
• Help prepare and deliver reports showing Export Control performance to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree qualification or relevant business experience.
• Professional, consistent and proactive approach to applying policies, processes and procedures.
• Good contribution to business performance as a specialist adviser on a critical area of expertise.
• Accurate investigations with clear, achievable corrective actions agreed with the Export Control team.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to influence key stakeholders.

Required skills

• Desirable: knowledge of Export Control laws and regulations and their application to business activities.
• Desirable: knowledge of the company's products, services, software and technical information and their relationship with relevant control lists.
