Field Service Engineer – Mechanical Heavy‑Duty Gas Turbine

About the role

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for mechanical inspection, maintenance planning and on‑site support of heavy‑duty gas turbines and their auxiliaries in Qatar. You will work closely with customers and internal technical teams to ensure reliable operation and successful commissioning of turbine units.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections (CI, HGPI, MI) and major overhauls on HDGT models such as Fr 5/2, Fr6B, Fr 7E and Fr 9E.
• Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with customers, including preparation of field service reports.
• Lead discussions on mechanical‑related NICs/TILs, follow‑up to completion and maintain documented modification histories.
• Conduct geometric dimensional checks, leveling, and alignment of foundations, equipment and skid positions.
• Support erection, pre‑commissioning and commissioning of new turbine units and auxiliaries (lube oil, starting, fuel gas, filter house, water wash).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in oil & gas, power, refinery or turbomachinery industries.
• Proven ability to perform laser alignments and borescope inspections on turbine machines.
• Strong customer‑centric attitude with excellent active‑listening and problem‑solving skills.
