Fire Protection Engineer

About the role

The Fire Protection Engineer will provide fire protection design analysis, system selection and testing for the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) at Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar. The role supports both design and field activities, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and U.S. government standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fire protection design analysis, including sprinkler and fire alarm system selection.
• Review and maintain fire alarm system impairments and provide technical expertise as required.
• Participate in preliminary and final acceptance testing of fire detection systems.
• Prepare written reports documenting system problems, repairs, and test results.
• Support project planning, design reviews, and construction management activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in fire protection, mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
• At least five years of fire protection experience.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and U.S. Navy affiliation.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• Completion of required AFIT courses within the first available offering after hire.
