FTP & MDS Technician – Fume Treatment & Material Distribution

About the role

The FTP & MDS Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring the Fume Treatment Plant and three material distribution systems (alumina oxide, alumina fluoride, and anode covering material) to ensure safe, efficient, 24/7 production in the Reduction area.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Fume Treatment Plant and material distribution systems, adhering to safety, cost‑effectiveness and environmental standards.
• Follow all operational procedures, generate departmental reports, issue work permits and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with internal departments (BCP, Port & Utilities, Potlines, FTC, Reduction Maintenance, Lab) and monitor SCADA trends, performing field inspections and highlighting deviations.

Required profile

• Trade Certificate in a relevant field and Bachelor status.
• 3‑5 years experience in Fume Treatment Plant or Material Distribution Systems at an aluminum smelter.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Valid driving license.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with SAP PM, APICS and MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of PLCs, servers and SCADA systems, including monitoring trends and data analysis.
