Guidance Assistant (Bilingual Male, Qatar Resident) – 2026/27

About the role

Hayat Universal School (HUBS) in Al Thumaid is hiring a Guidance Assistant for the 2026/27 academic year. The post is full-time, open to bilingual males who are residents of Qatar, and supports school counselors, teachers and Department Heads in student behavior management and student well-being.

Key responsibilities

• Assist counselors, teachers and Department Heads with student behavior management and well-being, implementing school policies in line with the school's objectives while keeping student matters confidential.
• Tell teachers what actions counselors took on behavioral incidents and what action plans follow.
• Build a positive rapport with students to help improve their behavior, and supervise suspended students in the reflection room according to counselor action plans.
• Support counselors, especially when they must attend to several students at once, and cover their absence temporarily when needed.
• Report behavioral incidents to parents, schedule parent-counselor meetings, and organize student workshops with counselors.
• Coordinate with teachers, coordinators and Department Heads to keep subject worksheets and files up to date, and organize the reflection room and counselors' offices with pictures, sign boards and posters.
• Maintain students' files according to the specified organization and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, aged 22 to 35, in good physical health.
• At least 3 years of experience, with at least 2 in a similar role.
• Proven ability to work pleasantly and cooperatively with children and adults, highly organized and able to multi-task.
• Strong oral and written communication in both Arabic and English.
• Able to act safely and quickly in emergencies, and to analyze situations and take appropriate action without immediate supervision.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office and computer database systems.
• Internet searching.

What we offer

• End-of-service benefit equal to one month of basic salary for each full year of service, paid after at least one year.
• Annual summer leave coinciding with the school summer break.
