About the role

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is looking for a Head of Accessibility Services. The role manages the accessibility needs of students with special abilities, coordinates accommodations across campus and leads the development of partnerships with external providers of accessible services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the coaching caseload of registered students by advising and counselling on organisation and study skills, advocacy, family contact, record keeping and referrals needed for academic success.
• Manage documentation for determining appropriate, reasonable accommodation, run intake meetings and coordinate accommodations between faculty, students and the Business Unit.
• Support incoming and newly admitted students' accessibility concerns through interventions, and create and distribute accommodation notices to students and faculty.
• Lead collaboration with campus partners to implement academic and testing accommodations for students with special abilities.
• Consult with faculty on individual student cases and provide professional development on supporting students with documented special abilities.
• Support partnerships with external providers of services such as Braille, CART (closed captioning), sign language interpreters and case management software.
• Deliver presentations on accessible services to faculty, staff and administrators in Academic and Student Affairs.
• Provide professional development support and periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates under UDST's Employee Performance Management framework, and identify learning and development opportunities for employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree and professional qualification are preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required; fluency in written and spoken Arabic is preferred.
