Social Studies Teacher – Middle School / High School Elective

About the role

Burjline Builders is recruiting on behalf of a confidential educational institution in Qatar for an experienced Social Studies Teacher. The teacher delivers the American Curriculum across Grades 5-9, with the potential to teach high school elective subjects. The position is based in Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Social Studies lessons aligned with the American Curriculum.
• Teach History, Geography, Civics and related Social Studies subjects.
• Potentially deliver high school electives depending on subject expertise.
• Prepare lesson plans, assessments and engaging classroom activities.
• Encourage critical thinking, research and student participation.
• Monitor academic progress and maintain effective classroom management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Geography, Social Studies or a related discipline.
• Recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, QTS or equivalent) preferred.
• Previous experience teaching Social Studies at middle school level.
• Experience teaching the American Curriculum strongly preferred.
• Ability to teach high school electives would be advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of relevant subjects and teaching methodologies.
• Excellent English communication skills.
