Head Barista

About the role

The Head Barista leads the coffee and beverage service team at a Marriott property in Lusail, Qatar. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences by overseeing drink preparation, managing inventory, and supporting staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Answer guest inquiries about wine origins, vintages, and styles.
• Check and maintain quality and quantity of all stock and supplies; requisition and restock liquor, wine, and beer.
• Prepare drink orders according to precise recipes and measuring systems.
• Open, serve, and manage wine/champagne bottles during service.
• Handle cash at the end of each shift, complete cashier reports, and secure the bank.
• Communicate last‑call timing and ensure all beverages are secured in storage areas.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching.
• Enforce company safety, security, and appearance standards.
• Provide a welcoming atmosphere, address guest needs promptly, and maintain high service quality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in food and beverage service.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb and standing for extended periods.
