Head of Contract – Major Energy Projects

About the role

The Head of Contract will lead the contract sub‑team responsible for a multi‑billion EPCC contract on a major LNG capital project in Qatar. This senior position ensures safe, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery while building a Centre of Expertise for major projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the contract sub‑team managing a multi‑billion EPCC contract from post‑award to close‑out.
• Drive safe project delivery, value protection, and change‑order management.
• Develop and implement best‑in‑class contract and project execution standards.
• Collaborate with Supply to create a Major Projects Contract Centre of Expertise.
• Negotiate with multiple parties to protect company interests.
• Provide commercial and contracting direction, including claims and dispute prevention.
• Maintain close relationships with legal, risk, and functional managers.
• Develop post‑award contract management strategies for NFS Onshore.
• Coordinate contract evaluations, end‑of‑contract close‑outs, and EPC contractor responses.
• Support the Contracts Division Manager in claims management and digital‑strategy improvement projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience on multi‑billion lump‑sum major energy projects (post‑award) in a similar role.
• Background as Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Project Control Manager.
• Proven ability to work under significant time pressure in a multicultural, multinational environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing large CAPEX projects.
• Demonstrated accuracy, initiative, and multi‑tasking capability.
