Head of Finance – Lead Financial Strategy in Doha

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead all financial functions for S'hail Shipping & Maritime Services in Doha, ensuring robust financial governance and supporting the company’s growth in the global dry‑bulk shipping market. This senior, full‑time position reports directly to senior leadership and combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and consolidate financial statements in compliance with international accounting standards.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to drive accurate financial planning.
• Monitor financial performance, cash flow and internal controls, providing analytical insights for strategic decisions.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, optimizing financial systems and processes.
• Support senior leadership with clear financial guidance for long‑term planning.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in finance with hands‑on experience preparing and managing financial statements.
• Proven corporate finance leadership experience, preferably in shipping, logistics or other capital‑intensive industries.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA, CFA or similar certification is an advantage.
• Ability to work on‑site in Doha and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
