Head of LNG Shipping Contracts

About the role

The Head of LNG Shipping Contracts will lead the end‑to‑end management of charter contracts for the LNG Shipping Department within QatarEnergy's Marketing Directorate. This senior position is responsible for ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that the shipping portfolio supports the company's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and execute LNG shipping charter contracts.
• Analyse contract performance and conduct regular evaluations.
• Implement contractual terms and ensure compliance with QatarEnergy obligations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align shipping activities with commercial goals.
• Monitor market trends and provide strategic recommendations for contract optimisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in shipping or related contract management.
• Strong understanding of shipping contracts, terminology and fundamentals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marine Studies or equivalent.
• Or Class 1 Marine Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner/Chief Engineer).
