Head of Software Engineering (Fintech)

About the role

The client, a fintech company, seeks a Head of Software Engineering to shape technology strategy, drive product road‑maps and build high‑performing engineering teams. You will work closely with executive, product, design and data teams to turn business opportunities into scalable tech solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering vision and strategy for the organisation.
• Create an environment where teams feel empowered to speak up, collaborate and continuously improve.
• Attract, lead, retain and mentor strong engineers, fostering self‑organised, high‑impact teams.
• Provide technology solutions that address complex business scenarios and ensure best‑practice delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design and data partners to shape product vision and strategy.
• Maintain cross‑domain technology relationships and support cross‑team initiatives.
• Guarantee high availability, scalability and quality of systems and infrastructure.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience building software products, including at least 5 years managing engineering teams of 10+ members.
• Proven track record of scaling tech teams and products in fast‑moving environments.
• Hands‑on technical leader comfortable with code reviews, system design and architecture.
• Strong ability to focus on core problems, cut through noise and deliver pragmatic solutions.
