Hostess – Guest Service & Upselling

About the role

The Hostess will welcome guests, serve food and beverages, and ensure a courteous, professional service that reflects Kempinski’s standards. Working in the hotel’s restaurant outlet, you will support the Assistant Restaurant Manager and contribute to guest satisfaction and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Report for duty on time, wearing the correct uniform, polished shoes and name‑tag in line with hotel grooming standards.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently, maintaining a high level of personal hygiene and appearance.
• Know and promote all food‑and‑beverage items, upsell and suggest alternatives to maximise revenue.
• Monitor supplies, equipment and waste, helping to reduce spoilage.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area and follow opening and closing procedures.
• Handle guest enquiries, record complaints and ensure timely follow‑up with supervisors.
• Operate the POS system according to the level of responsibility assigned.
• Adhere strictly to hotel policies on fire safety, hygiene, health and overall conduct.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Required profile

• Punctual, reliable and able to present a professional appearance at all times.
• Strong knowledge of the hotel’s food‑and‑beverage offerings and services.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests and reporting issues.
• Ability to work under pressure, follow procedures and maintain cleanliness.
• Team‑player who contributes positively to the department and hotel environment.
