Industrial Control Systems Lead

About the role

The Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Lead is responsible for the operation, security, reliability, and modernization of critical industrial control systems at Al Udeid Air Base. This position provides technical leadership for SCADA, PLC, and building automation systems that support power, water, fuel, HVAC, and other mission‑critical utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor ICS/HVAC technicians; assign tasks, manage shift schedules, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC control systems, BAS, and SCADA platforms, ensuring continuous operation of data centers, command facilities, and aircraft support buildings.
• Diagnose complex control system issues, lead troubleshooting, approve control logic, and manage system upgrades and integrations.
• Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and asset inventories; enforce access control, configuration, and change management procedures.
• Enforce OSHA, Air Force, and host‑nation safety standards; conduct inspections, preventive maintenance reviews, and quality audits.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and performance metrics; coordinate with vendors, contractors, and base engineering, operations, and IT/cybersecurity teams.
• Support emergency response and after‑hours troubleshooting; travel 100% overseas and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience specializing in industrial control systems.
• Master Operator Training in Building Automation Systems.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain a Qatar residency visa.
• Willingness to work in extreme environmental conditions and endure long hours.
• DoD Secret clearance (must be maintained).
