IT Instructor

About the role

The IT Instructor delivers IT modules within Qatar Technical Institute (QTI) in Doha, developing and teaching a range of IT modules in the QTI's Foundation program. The work takes place in the classroom and in workshops, supporting students toward an internationally recognised qualification for IT users in a workplace environment. The role is flexible, as module content may vary according to the institute's needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver IT courses in line with quality and delivery targets
• Use a variety of teaching approaches, from presentations to student-centred inquiry-based methods
• Design lesson plans with clear learning objectives and outcomes using online Learning Management Systems
• Follow robust tracking and assessment methods to maintain standards and monitor student progress
• Conduct assessments in line with the institute's assessment strategy
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ideas and embracing suggestions from others
• Maintain a customer-focused approach and collaborate with colleagues on a unified teaching approach
• Ensure all safety, health and environmental (SHE) requirements are met in the training environment
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and corporate requirements

Required profile

• 2 years' experience teaching IT, with English as the teaching medium
• Bachelor's degree in IT or a relevant subject
• Teaching qualification such as a B.Ed. or PGCE in an IT-based subject
• Preferred: experience teaching in the Middle East, externally awarded qualifications or in a vocational environment
• Ability to teach engineering, science or mathematics if required

Required skills

• Training design experience following the BSAT/DSAT model or ADDIE (2 years)
• Proficiency in online Learning Management Systems
