Journeyman Electrician

About the role

The Journeyman Electrician provides intermediate‑level electrical maintenance, modification and repair on military and industrial equipment in Qatar. Working under U.S. Air Force standards, the role involves troubleshooting, testing and documenting work in a deployed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment such as generators, control panels, alternator synchronizing units and voltage regulators.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical system malfunctions using blueprints, technical manuals and testing instruments.
• Prepare and maintain required government paperwork and job packets for each maintenance action.
• Research, requisition, and document materials and reports related to repairs.
• Perform dismantling and reassembly of specialized equipment following Technical Manuals.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with at least five years of relevant electrical maintenance experience.
• Journeyman‑level electrician license and ability to read building diagrams and technical manuals.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; U.S. passport preferred; ability to obtain a residency visa for Qatar.
• DoD Secret clearance and ability to meet USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements.
• Willingness to work in extreme environmental conditions, including dust, high temperatures and long hours.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA‑40 standards.
• Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Proficiency with electrician hand tools, measuring and testing instruments.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
