Lead Civil Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Lead Civil Engineer – Oil & Gas will provide technical leadership for the design, development, and delivery of civil and structural infrastructure across oil and gas projects. This senior position requires deep expertise in foundation engineering, geotechnical investigations, and structural analysis to ensure safe, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural engineering from concept through construction close‑out.
• Conduct site investigations, geotechnical surveys, soil and rock sampling, and laboratory testing for foundation design.
• Design shallow, deep, mat, and specialized foundation systems.
• Develop structural designs for buildings, process structures, equipment supports, and related facilities.
• Design site infrastructure such as access roads, drainage, storm‑water, and utility corridors.
• Perform finite element, load, stress, and dynamic analyses.
• Establish design standards, maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance with API, ASME, IBC, ACI, AISC and local codes.
• Manage permits, environmental assessments, and land‑use approvals.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers, and supervise construction activities.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections, material testing, field surveys, and as‑built verification.
• Support cost estimating, value engineering, constructability reviews, and project close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience on industrial projects.
• 5+ years in project engineering or management leadership roles.
• Experience managing projects with budgets of USD 15 million or more.
• Strong expertise in foundation design and geotechnical principles.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage design consultants.
