Lead Insurance Officer

About the role

The Lead Insurance Officer will manage and oversee all aviation and non‑aviation insurance claims for Qatar Airways Group. The role ensures efficient, fair handling of claims while minimizing financial exposure and complying with regulations and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial losses and streamline claims processes.
• Stay current with insurance laws and adjust handling procedures as needed.
• Coordinate with technical teams, legal counsel, brokers, insurers and other stakeholders to protect the Group’s interests.
• Proofread contracts and ensure insurance language aligns with the Group’s best interests.
• Maintain underwriting declarations, analyze risk exposure, and propose policy adjustments.
• Monitor premium invoices, schedule payments, and ensure compliance with policy terms.
• Oversee end‑to‑end claims management from notification to settlement, including liability assessment and recovery actions.
• Liaise with brokers, reinsurers, adjusters and legal advisors to resolve disputes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing aviation and non‑aviation insurance claims.
• Strong knowledge of insurance laws, regulations and policy wording.
• Ability to analyse risk, assess liability and recommend policy improvements.
