Learning & Development Trainer

About the role

Society Sport Center is looking for a Learning & Development Trainer within its HR division, reporting to the HR Head. The role designs, coordinates and delivers training programmes that help Society team members deliver a premium, hospitality-led member experience across all clubs. It works closely with Operations, Sales, Fitness and HR to embed learning into daily behaviour, and combines training facilitation, programme coordination and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve training programmes aligned to brand standards, service expectations, operational procedures and leadership behaviours, covering member experience, hospitality standards, sales and service, leadership fundamentals and compliance.
• Deliver training sessions in person and virtually, run workshops, inductions and refresher courses, and provide 1:1 coaching or small-group support to managers and supervisors.
• Support new club openings with structured onboarding and training delivery.
• Maintain the training calendar, coordinate logistics (scheduling, venues, attendance, records), ensure new starters complete induction and statutory training, and track completion of mandatory and role-specific training.
• Work with Operations, Sales, Fitness and HR, and with line managers, to identify training needs and support development plans.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, observation and performance indicators, identify capability gaps and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a training, learning & development or HR role.
• Experience in hospitality, fitness or premium service environments strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel between sites as required.

Required skills

• Training facilitation and delivery, and experience designing and delivering training programmes.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent is advantageous but not essential.
