Lighting Design and Technical Support Engineer

About the role

Alurays is looking for a Lighting Design and Technical Support Engineer with 3-4 years of experience in the lighting industry to join its team in Doha, Qatar. The role supports sales and business development activities across commercial, architectural, façade and outdoor lighting projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out lux calculations for roads (using AGi32) and buildings (using Dialux)
• Review RFQs, BOQs, specifications, drawings and project requirements
• Prepare technical and commercial quotations
• Select suitable lighting products based on project specifications
• Prepare compliance statements, technical submittals, comparison sheets and supporting documentation
• Coordinate with sales, engineering, production and clients throughout the quotation process
• Follow up on quotations, approvals, samples and project requirements
• Support consultants, contractors and clients with technical product information
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations and project status

Required profile

• 3-4 years of relevant experience in the lighting industry
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Good understanding of LED lighting, drivers, controls and lighting specifications
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Good command of English; Arabic is a plus
• GCC lighting market experience preferred

Required skills

• Experience using AGi32 and Dialux
• Ability to read architectural and electrical drawings and BOQs
• Experience with technical quotations and project-based sales support
