Manager, Financial Crime Compliance & Fraud Assurance

About the role

The bank in Qatar is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Financial Crime Compliance and Fraud Assurance function. You will strengthen the assurance framework, ensuring robust oversight of AML, sanctions, KYC, and fraud controls across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end assurance reviews covering AML, KYC, sanctions, onboarding, and fraud detection/prevention frameworks.
• Assess design and operating effectiveness of financial crime and fraud controls, identifying weaknesses and regulatory risk exposures.
• Develop and execute a risk‑based assurance plan, prioritising high‑risk products, channels, and customer segments.
• Track remediation of findings, ensuring timely closure and escalation of material risks to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
• Prepare detailed assurance reports highlighting key findings, thematic trends, and risk insights for senior compliance, fraud, and risk leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law or a related discipline.
• 6–10 years of experience in financial crime compliance, fraud risk, AML, sanctions or assurance roles within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of AML/CFT frameworks, fraud risk management, and sanctions regulations in Qatar or comparable GCC jurisdictions.
• Experience in assurance, control testing, internal audit or second‑line monitoring of financial crime/fraud functions.
• Relevant certifications such as CAMS, ICA or CFE are preferred.
