Manager Procurement (IT Category)

About the role

Qatar Airways Group is looking for a Manager of Procurement for the IT Category in Doha. The role manages and drives all procurement requirements in the IT category, develops category strategies with agreed cost-saving targets, ensures supply delivers best value and leads the team to meet its goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define the IT category plan and cost-saving plans, moving from budgeted amounts to lower overall expenditure
• Set the supply strategy for relevant product categories and work cross-functionally with colleagues
• Review and input to department policies and processes, and endorse staff documents for compliance
• Negotiate with key suppliers on costs, commercial and contractual terms, and assist with tenders of high value or risk
• Help develop the departmental budget and run, review and act on performance reports on spend, timelines and operational state
• Manage quality control across projects, keeping delivery timelines and mitigating risks, and liaise with project stakeholders
• Challenge user timelines, specifications and supplier lists where appropriate, and support the Procurement Specialist
• Prioritise and assign workload and tenders to the category team, support other Procurement Managers and forward-plan procurement activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 8 years of job-related experience
• At least 5 years of IT category-specific experience
• Fluent English and strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, pressured environment with many stakeholders and to build business relationships
• Service-oriented mindset and excellent negotiation, planning and execution skills
• Managerial skills: delegation, direction setting, mentoring and coaching subordinates
