Mechanical Engineer (Trainer)

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer (Trainer) delivers technical training on mechanical systems, maintenance practices, safety standards and engineering operations. The role covers developing training materials, running classroom and practical sessions, assessing trainee competency and supporting the ongoing development of engineering and maintenance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs for mechanical systems, equipment and maintenance activities.
• Run classroom, workshop and on-the-job training for technicians, supervisors and engineers.
• Prepare training manuals, presentations, assessments and practical exercises.
• Evaluate trainees through tests, practical assessments and competency checks.
• Ensure training complies with industry standards, manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
• Give technical guidance on HVAC, pumps, compressors, mechanical equipment, plumbing and rotating machinery.
• Identify skill gaps and recommend development plans for employees.
• Maintain training records, attendance reports, competency matrices and certification documents.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance best practices and promote a strong safety culture and HSE compliance.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams on training schedules and stay up to date with new technologies and industry developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional training certification (Train the Trainer, Instructional Techniques or equivalent) preferred.
• At least 5-8 years in mechanical maintenance, facilities management, industrial operations or engineering services.
• At least 2-3 years delivering technical training programs.
• Experience in Facilities Management.
