About the role
The Medical Biller is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, preparing and submitting accurate claims, and ensuring timely resolution of billing queries within a hospital setting.
Key responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and pre‑authorization requirements.
- Prepare and submit accurate claims according to hospital and payer procedures.
- Track claim status, investigate rejections, and support resubmissions and appeals.
- Maintain billing records and coordinate with patients, insurers, and hospital departments to resolve billing queries.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in a hospital.
- Knowledge of insurance claims, pre‑authorizations, and payer requirements.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital billing or EHR systems.
