Military and Family Life Counselor - Qatar

About the role

Leidos is hiring licensed behavioral health professionals to join its Adult Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) team supporting Qatar in the Middle East. The assigned counselor provides services remotely or virtually, but must be ready to go on site in Qatar once the base reopens. The role offers non-medical, preventive counseling, consultation and outreach to service members, military family members and eligible staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face counseling to service members and their families (individuals, couples and families)
• Observe, participate in and coach activities with service members, spouses and families, and model behavior management techniques
• Give presentations at military-connect events and promote creativity and positivity through approved materials
• Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events
• Help with transition adjustments such as a new school and a new home
• Take part in in-service training and other contract activities, and share trends and issues with Team Leads
• Additional duties may include responding to emergencies and traveling to locations inside and outside the base, including uneven outdoor terrain and weather

Required profile

• Master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD)
• Valid independent license in the mental health field (e.g., LCSW, MHC, MFT, LPC, Psychologist)
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to pass a basic background check, a Child National Agency Check and NACI/CNACI clearance (Public Trust)
