Munitions Technician

About the role

The Munitions Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining USAF munitions and related equipment at the site in Qatar. The role includes operating the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) and may involve supervising an OCN workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store, inspect, test and transport munitions and related equipment in compliance with USAF and host‑nation safety standards.
• Operate TICMS, conduct warehouse inventories, and resolve serviceability and accountability issues.
• Prepare and configure munitions shipments for air, sea and surface transport, including loading and unloading trucks.
• Inspect and maintain light vehicles, material handling equipment, metal‑strapping tools, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors and power tools.
• Provide safety briefings, supervise crew members, and perform emergency response actions as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; completed USAF Munitions Systems training or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearance (US citizenship required).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a host‑nation license.
• Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling at least 50 lb and working outdoors for extended periods.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Operation of material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, manual hoist).
• Use of TICMS in the Receiver role.
• Inspection and minor maintenance of vehicles, equipment and facilities.
