Munitions Quality Control Specialist

About the role

The Munitions QC role audits and monitors the performance of the Munitions Department, ensuring compliance with explosive processes, safety programs, and ISO 9001 quality standards. The position serves as the site focal point for weapons safety issues and conducts inspections documented in the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS).

Key responsibilities

• Perform random quality inspections on munitions inspection, receiving, shipping, storage, accountability, maintenance, supply, procurement and transportation processes.
• Monitor workshop practices, housekeeping, and explosive safety to identify discrepancies and trends for corrective action.
• Conduct quality control inspections on outbound shipments, tools, safety equipment and protective clothing.
• Review technical order files, Air Force standards, and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Coordinate with other departments to standardize processes and assist with training program development.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum seven years experience with USAF Military Munitions or equivalent.
• At least five years supervisory experience in munitions activities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
• Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling at least 50 lb and able to work outdoors for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems or equivalent.
• Intermediate knowledge of MIS applicable to PGM activities.
• Experience operating material handling equipment, forklifts and tractor‑trailers.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management and weapons safety standards.
