Music Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Doha is looking for a Music Teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The teacher ensures students' academic success by implementing the SABIS curriculum and philosophy and applying the SABIS teaching methods. The school is part of the SABIS network, present in 21 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using provided lesson plans, and develop them from pacing charts where needed, applying the SABIS point system.
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department.
• Discuss student disciplinary and academic concerns with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS Point System in the classroom and proctor exams in a properly managed environment.
• Support, guide and motivate academically low-performing students.
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing previous exams according to the revision schedule.
• Assist with additional duties such as testing students, substituting for absent teachers, organizing students for lunch and buses, crowd control and other administrative tasks.
• Take part in student life events such as art, open houses and physical education with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions and carry out other tasks delegated by school management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• English proficiency.
• A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
• Ability to meet country and local education and certification requirements, and to pass reference and criminal background checks.
