Nuclear Medicine Technologist

About the role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work within the Radiology department to ensure safe, optimized medical exposures for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role collaborates closely with physicians, medical physicists and other technologists to maintain high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Validate that each medical exposure is justified in consultation with the referring physician.
• Minimize patient exposure while achieving diagnostic objectives, adhering to relevant guidance levels.
• Develop and optimise protocols for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures together with medical physicists.
• Provide criteria for examinations involving pregnant women, paediatric patients, occupational health checks and research studies.
• Assess radiation incidents or accidents from a medical perspective.
• Contribute to short‑ and mid‑term departmental planning aligned with Allied Health strategic priorities and financial objectives.
• Ensure compliance with HSE&E and quality management policies to guarantee employee safety, legislative adherence and high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in clinical radiation science or a related field (essential).
• Certification in Radiology & Nuclear Medicine Safety.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience within the GCC region is an advantage.
