Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Engineer (Onshore)

About the role

An onshore pipeline pre-commissioning engineer is needed to develop procedures and calculations for pipeline pre-commissioning, coordinate technical interfaces and support execution remotely. The role is based in the client's office in Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Develop pre-commissioning procedures covering flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, leak testing, nitrogen purging and reinstatement.
• Prepare engineering calculations and philosophies for filling volumes, hydrotest pressures, pigging, dewatering and drying.
• Define and size equipment spreads such as pumps, compressors, pigs and temporary systems, and prepare specifications and datasheets.
• Coordinate technical interfaces with pipeline, process, construction and vendor teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
• Prepare pre-commissioning dossiers, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and test packs, and provide remote technical support during execution.
• Resolve technical queries and non-conformance reports (NCRs), compile test records and complete close-out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Process, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in pipeline pre-commissioning and commissioning engineering for oil and gas projects.
• Proven experience preparing procedures and calculations for hydrotesting, pigging, dewatering, drying and nitrogen purging.
• Demonstrated competency in defining and sizing pre-commissioning equipment and temporary systems.
• Fluent written and spoken English, able to work independently and support execution remotely.
• Subsea pipeline and Gulf project experience preferred.
