Planning Engineer - Desalination Projects

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a Planning Engineer in Doha within its oil and gas sector. The role covers developing, updating and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress and supporting delay analysis, claims and change management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, including baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, recovery plans and resource-loaded schedules.
• Monitor project progress across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases, and analyse schedule variances and potential risks.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, subcontractors and client representatives to collect and validate progress data.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and KPI reports; review contractor and subcontractor schedules.
• Support delay analysis, claims preparation and change management, track milestones and ensure contractual compliance.
• Take part in project review meetings and give planning recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of planning and scheduling experience in large-scale infrastructure, water treatment or industrial projects.
• Proven experience on desalination plant projects (RO, SWRO, MSF or MED technologies preferred).
• Strong knowledge of EPC project execution and project controls.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in progress measurement, earned value management (EVM) and schedule risk analysis.
• PMP certification is an advantage; Primavera P6 certification is preferred.
