PR Account Director (Strategic Communications)

About the role

The PR Account Director will lead the strategic direction and delivery of communications accounts, working under the oversight of the Director of Public Relations. This senior position focuses on aligning communications programmes with client priorities, protecting reputation, and supporting informed decision‑making across Qatar and the wider GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver strategic communications and PR programmes that strengthen client relationships, achieve measurable outcomes and drive account growth.
• Advise C‑suite clients on organisational transformation, executive positioning, stakeholder engagement and reputation management, especially on high‑risk, business‑critical matters.
• Anticipate emerging issues, manage crisis preparedness and response, and develop crisis playbooks, holding statements and executive briefing materials.
• Build and lead high‑performing teams, ensuring they stay abreast of media landscape, stakeholder dynamics and emerging communication trends.
• Support the Director of Public Relations in monitoring account performance, resource allocation and commercial objectives, and contribute to new business proposals and pitches.

Required profile

• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in public relations, corporate or strategic communications, with significant experience in Qatar and/or the wider GCC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English, with proven ability to craft high‑quality strategic narratives and executive communications.
• Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders on complex communications challenges, reputation management and crisis communications.
• Strong understanding of the political, economic, regulatory and media landscape in Qatar and the GCC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, Business or a related discipline.
