Process Engineering Specialist

About the role

An experienced Process Engineering Specialist is sought to provide technical support during the EPC, commissioning and start-up phases of projects until handover to the permanent Asset team. The role ensures that process engineering deliverables meet operational requirements, with a strong focus on safety, operability, reliability and maintainability throughout the facility lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support during EPC, commissioning and start-up activities.
• Participate in technical reviews, including RCFA, HAZOP, FRA, HAZID and SIL verification.
• Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new projects.
• Develop and implement process surveillance tools to ensure safe, reliable and optimized production.
• Monitor process performance, troubleshoot operational issues and recommend engineering solutions.
• Take part in system completion activities, including pre-commissioning walkdowns and verification of chemical and catalyst loading.
• Maintain issue registers and manage critical technical issues, including new technology risks affecting reliability, availability and cybersecurity.
• Give process engineering expertise and technical input to other disciplines and project teams.
• Support and coordinate project tie-in activities and high-risk commissioning, including system monitoring, tuning and optimization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in process engineering, EPC projects, commissioning and start-up is preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Strong process engineering and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work and make decisions under high-pressure conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
