Programme Lead – Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

The Programme Lead – Senior Planning Engineer will own the development, maintenance, monitoring and reporting of project schedules across all phases of large‑scale infrastructure programmes. Working within Hill International’s Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and development of construction and procurement schedules.
• Review contract documents and suggest planning, cost and programming amendments.
• Analyse schedule trends, identify problem areas and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct studies on scheduling, resource and material flow as required.
• Develop monitoring and reporting systems for management and engineer review.
• Manage monthly programme control reporting to the Engineer.
• Monitor design performance and integrate design programmes into master schedules.
• Resolve variance reports related to scheduling and cost.
• Provide guidance on planning issues to senior management.
• Assist in consultant selection and establish formal reporting arrangements for the client.
• Prepare risk assessment and mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of post‑graduate experience in project controls, including deep‑tunnel and pumping‑station projects.
• At least 12 years’ experience within a PMC or similar organisation delivering large multidisciplinary infrastructure programmes.
• Professional qualification such as PMP, MRICS or equivalent.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
