Receiving Clerk

About the role

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, staging, and delivering merchandise to the appropriate departments within the hotel, ensuring proper handling, storage, and inventory control.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and stage merchandise by department, marking appropriately for placement.
• Stack received merchandise on pallets or carts and deliver to designated areas.
• Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies; notify manager of low stock levels.
• Inspect deliveries for freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality; refuse damaged or incorrect items.
• Store perishables properly, rotate stock, and adhere to food safety standards.
• Organize, clean, and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, floors, equipment, and drains.
• Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash, placing them in proper storage areas.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete required safety training.
• Follow company policies, maintain a professional appearance, and protect confidential information.
• Communicate professionally with guests and co‑workers and support team goals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and navigate narrow or elevated spaces.
• Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
