Reliability Engineer I

About the role

The Reliability Engineer I will join the permanent team at North Oil Company in Doha, Qatar, on a two‑year definite contract. The role focuses on improving safety and field efficiency by analysing unplanned technical failures across maintenance disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and steward reliability improvement recommendations, influencing senior management and shareholders.
• Drive an incident‑free mindset, conduct root‑cause analyses, and lead obsolescence studies.
• Generate monthly reliability reports using SAP S/4HANA, Smart Signal and other data sources.
• Perform reliability‑centered maintenance studies, estimate MTBF/MTTF, and conduct life‑analysis using Weibull++ or similar tools.
• Support design and development of brown‑field and green‑field sites and coach engineers on reliability tasks.

Required profile

• BSc in a scientific or technical field with a maintenance/reliability certification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in petrochemical, refining, or oil & gas maintenance/reliability.
• Strong knowledge of offshore plant equipment, technical manuals, PFDs, P&IDs and data sheets.
• Fluent English with excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Medically fit for offshore travel and able to work onsite five days a week.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA PM module and CMIMS.
• Experience with reliability tools: Weibull++, ISO 14224, RAM, FMEA, RCM, and life‑analysis techniques.
• Ability to perform root‑cause analysis, failure rate calculations, and reliability growth assessments.
• Competence in using technical documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and cause‑and‑effect charts.
