Reservation Agent

About the role

The hotel is looking for a Reservation Agent to sell its voco Doha West Bay Suites products and services through up-selling and suggestive selling, and to manage reservations end to end. The role also covers group bookings, credit approvals, reporting and keeping the Revenue Head informed.

Key responsibilities

• Sell the hotel's products and services and promote them, maintaining strong product knowledge
• Prepare and execute action plans that increase reservation sales and business
• Record and process reservations by phone and email, including waitlist reservations and amendments such as extensions and early departures
• Investigate and record no-shows, and monitor special rates, offers and promotions
• Track occupancy levels and inform managers, and prepare reservation sales reports and other reports as requested
• Handle room enquiry correspondence promptly and keep the Revenue Head informed of complaints and significant issues
• Record special billing arrangements for groups and conventions, and liaise with the Operations or Finance Manager on reservations needing credit approval
• Prepare quotes, handle communications, input data into the database and file records
• Work with the sales team to develop initiatives that increase departmental revenue and meet budget targets

Required profile

• Higher School Certificate / Year 12 (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a hotel reservations sales environment
• Professional, well-groomed appearance, able to work under pressure and adapt to change
• Good relationships with colleagues across the hotel and sister properties

Required skills

• Working knowledge of hotel PMS (Opera)
• Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software packages
• Oral and written communication, organisation and coordination of multiple assignments
