Restaurant General Manager – Luxury Japanese Dining

About the role

The General Manager will lead all aspects of Nozomi Doha, a high‑end Japanese lifestyle restaurant within Marsa Malaz Kempinski on The Pearl‑Qatar. Reporting to corporate leadership, you will ensure the brand’s culinary and entertainment standards are consistently delivered while driving revenue and profitability in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations to guarantee a seamless, high‑energy guest experience.
• Maintain the Nozomi lifestyle concept, ensuring elevated Japanese dining, curated music, and dynamic atmosphere are delivered consistently.
• Manage P&L statements, budgets, revenue forecasting and cost controls (labor & COGS) to maximise profitability.
• Identify commercial opportunities, analyse guest spending patterns and local market trends to increase seat turnover and average spend.
• Collaborate with corporate and marketing teams on brand campaigns, private dining promotions and event bookings.
• Lead, mentor and develop an international team of department heads, floor managers and service staff, overseeing recruitment, onboarding and performance reviews.
• Act as the primary ambassador for Nozomi Doha, building relationships with VIP guests, local dignitaries and international travelers.
• Ensure compliance with Qatari labour laws, HACCP food safety standards and licensing regulations.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of senior management experience in high‑volume, luxury dining or premium entertainment venues.
• European nationality as a mandatory requirement.
• Strong background in luxury hospitality operations, preferably with experience in the Middle East or GCC.
• Proven ability to lead diverse, international teams and foster an inclusive, high‑accountability culture.
• Excellent guest‑relations skills with a track record of managing VIP and high‑profile clientele.
