Senior Advisor, Strategy (Financial Markets)

About the role

The Senior Advisor, Strategy will support the Director of Strategy in shaping and delivering the organisation's long‑term strategy and transformation programme. The role translates strategic priorities into actionable initiatives, tracks delivery and ensures alignment across departments, regulators and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corporate strategy development and periodic refresh, ensuring alignment with national priorities and financial sector strategies.
• Drive the annual business planning process, translating strategic priorities into clear objectives, initiatives and KPIs across departments.
• Develop and monitor strategic performance metrics, linking strategy, budget and execution, and prepare high‑quality materials for executive and Board discussions.
• Support the delivery of the transformation programme by defining, prioritising and tracking initiatives, working with owners to resolve bottlenecks and maintain execution discipline.
• Coordinate cross‑functional alignment, acting as a central point for departments, governance forums and senior‑management meetings.
• Provide strategic insight and advisory on market structure, liquidity, investor participation and international positioning, identifying risks and opportunities.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in strategy consulting, capital markets or financial services, with a proven track record in strategy development and large‑scale transformation programmes.
• Deep understanding of capital markets, market infrastructure and financial sector development, preferably with prior experience at a stock exchange or capital‑markets advisory firm.
• Demonstrated ability to operate at board and C‑suite level, with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or Law; CFA or a master’s degree is an advantage.
• Familiarity with MENA capital markets and the Qatar financial ecosystem.
