Senior Backend Engineer I

About the role

Snoonu, Qatar’s home‑grown Super App, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance services that power delivery, ride‑hailing, and shopping experiences. You will work with a modern tech stack, collaborate on system architecture, and ensure the platform scales reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using .NET Core 8, ensuring seamless integration with other system components.
• Optimize database performance in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB through query tuning and efficient data modeling.
• Participate in architectural discussions, contributing to scalability and maintainability improvements.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor team members.
• Refactor existing codebases for better efficiency, readability, and testability.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests to maintain high test coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex production and development issues.
• Document technical decisions, system designs, and processes for knowledge sharing.
• Support production deployments and verify system health after releases.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with at least 5 years focused on .NET Core.
• Strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
• Deep knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ and distributed asynchronous systems.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale projects and mentor junior developers.
