Senior Business Analyst – Strategic Planning (Banking)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Strategic Planning function. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, Finance and business teams to shape strategy, monitor performance and drive key initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research, industry trend analysis and internal assessments to support strategy formulation.
• Analyse macro‑economic indicators, competitor financials and emerging banking trends, especially across the GCC.
• Partner with Finance to align budgets, forecasts and balance‑sheet targets with strategic objectives and risk appetite.
• Support execution of strategic initiatives by collaborating with sponsors and project leads.
• Develop and track departmental KPIs as part of corporate performance management.
• Perform financial and performance analysis of internal functions and peer banks to identify improvement opportunities.
• Create management dashboards, executive reports and Board‑level presentations ensuring data consistency and transparency.
• Evaluate market entry opportunities, strategic alliances and FinTech partnerships across Qatar and the wider GCC.
• Lead or support strategic projects, acting as Project Manager when required.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 7 years in banking or a closely related financial‑services environment.
• Strong background in banking strategy, strategic planning, change management and financial analysis.
• Good understanding of GCC banking markets and industry trends.
• Experience in FinTech, strategic partnerships or market‑expansion initiatives is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder‑management and presentation abilities.
• Candidates from Group Strategy functions or strategy consulting firms with significant banking strategy exposure are encouraged.
• Relevant professional certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
