Senior Compliance Officer

About the role

The Senior Compliance Officer will lead the development, implementation and maintenance of the organisation's compliance program. Working closely with internal audit, HR and other functions, the role ensures that policies, procedures and conduct standards are adhered to and that any breaches are promptly addressed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and updating compliance policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with departments to gather information on compliance issues and report findings to the Senior Compliance Officer (SCO).
• Investigate alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and the Code of Conduct.
• Review, evaluate and follow up on compliance issues raised by management and staff.
• Identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and report them to the SCO.
• Monitor corrective‑action plans and provide regular progress reports.
• Manage the compliance hotline and promote its use across the organisation.
• Support communication initiatives to raise awareness of the Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Conduct compliance assessments and analyse internal or external audit findings.
• Assist in delivering compliance training and awareness programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration or a related field (BCL required).
• Professional certification in corporate or regulatory compliance preferred.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a similar organisation such as ABA.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent drafting skills and the ability to translate business processes into legally sound documents.
• Confidence interacting with senior executives and delivering presentations.
